The riverside area of the town of Odemira will be the starting point for this route of unparalleled beauty, where the first few kilometers will be spent following the winding of the Mira River.
As you start to climb the Alentejo hills, you can glimpse the mountainous area surrounding the Mira River. Following the Ribeira do Torgal, you will find a place of extreme beauty, isolated among rocks and without human intervention: Pego das Pias (River Beach).
You will want to linger here, especially on hot days. Its name comes from the circular cavities (pias) found in the rocks, caused by whirlpools that existed at a time when the water level was higher than it is today. There is a popular legend about this place that says that there is a treasure at the bottom of this pool.
The end of this route will be next to the EN120 at the Ponte do Sol Posto, with its beautiful arches over the Ribeira do Torgal.
